Terms of Use

These terms cover your use of 730dating.com and the video speed-dating events run through it (“the service”). By joining an event or leaving your email with us, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

Who can use it

You must be 18 or over to use the service. It is intended for adults seeking to meet other adults. If you are under 18, do not join an event or submit your email; if we learn that someone under 18 has, we will delete their information.

How events work

How to behave

When using the service you agree not to:

We may remove anyone from the service for breaking these rules. Because events are live and hosted by people, the host is the first line of moderation.

Video calls

Dates run as direct peer-to-peer video connections between the two guests’ browsers. We do not record, store or listen to them. What another guest does on their own device, including recording, is outside our control — which is exactly why the conduct rules above matter.

Matches

After each date, guests privately mark yes or no. When two people both say yes, the service reveals the email address each of them entered to the other. It does this only on a mutual yes. Once your address has been shared with a match, we cannot un-share it.

What we do not promise

The service is provided as it is. We do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free, that an event will have any particular number of guests, that your video connection will work on any given network, or that you will match with anyone. We may change or withdraw the service at any time.

We do not vet, background-check or verify the identity of guests. You are meeting strangers. Use the same judgement you would use meeting anyone new online, and be careful about what personal information you share and when you choose to meet someone in person.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the service, for the conduct of other guests or hosts, or for anything that happens between people who meet through it. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows when they last changed, and continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the updated terms.

Privacy Policy

This explains what we collect, why, how long we keep it, and how to get rid of it. It is written to match what the service actually does.

The short version

What we collect, and why

WhatWhenWhyHow long
Display name, whether you are male or female, one-line bio, email address When you join an event To seat you with the right people and to give a mutual match your email Held in memory only. Dropped when the server restarts, and events are cleared after 12 hours
Name, email, dates you first and last attended, which events you came to Only if you tick “Remember me for future events” So a host can invite past guests to the next event Until you ask us to delete it
Who you mutually matched with, and at which event Only when both people ticked “Remember me” So a host can see how events went Until either person asks us to delete it
Email and optional name When you use the sign-up form on the home page To tell you about future events Until you ask to be removed
IP address, and the country and city it roughly indicates Alongside the two rows above To know which areas guests are joining from, so events can be run near them Until the related record is deleted
Analytics about page visits (Google Analytics) Whenever you visit the site To understand how many people visit and which pages they use Per Google’s retention settings

On location. A city derived from an IP address is a rough guess. It is often the nearest large exchange rather than where you are, and it is meaningless if you use a VPN. We treat it as a hint about regions, not as your address.

Video and audio

Your camera and microphone are used only to connect you directly to the person you are on a date with. Those streams travel between your browsers and are not recorded or stored by us. To help two browsers find each other we use public STUN servers, which see connection information but no video or audio.

The lawful basis for holding this

For the durable records — the guest list, matches and the interest list — the basis is your consent, given by ticking the box or submitting the form. You can withdraw it at any time by asking us to delete your record. For the transient information needed to run an event you are in, the basis is performing the service you asked for.

Who else sees it

We do not sell your personal information or share it with advertisers.

Cookies and browser storage

Analytics cookies are only set if you accept them. Until you choose, the Google Analytics script is not loaded at all — no request is made to Google from your visit. If you decline, we also clear any analytics cookies already on this site from earlier visits.

You can change your mind at any time using the Cookie settings link in the footer of any page.

Separately, the service uses your browser’s local storage — not cookies — to remember your seat at an event if your connection drops, and to hold a host’s key so they do not have to paste it again. That is what makes the service work, it stays on your device, and it is not used to track you.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Deletion is immediate and complete: removing a guest also removes their attendance history and their match records. Email hello@730dating.com and tell us the address you used.

Depending on where you live you may also have the right to object to processing, to ask us to restrict it, to receive your data in a portable form, and to complain to your local data protection authority.

Children

The service is for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has given us information, email us and we will delete it.

Where your information is held

The site and its database run on Hostinger’s infrastructure. Google Analytics processes data on Google’s infrastructure. Depending on where you are, this may mean your information is transferred outside your own country.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS. The guest list is behind an administrator key. No service can promise perfect security, and we would rather say that plainly than imply otherwise.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top will change with it.
